Head of Engineering
Augmodo uses Spatial AI to bridge the gap between spatial computing and retail to redefine physical commerce for the AI era. As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for building and scaling the technical foundation of Augmodo. You will lead a team of world-class engineers in developing real-time AI-driven spatial computing applications that seamlessly integrate with the physical world.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team spanning computer vision, backend, frontend, hardware, and firmware.
- Define and execute the engineering roadmap, balancing innovation with scalability.
- Architect and build real-time, AI-driven spatial computing applications.
- Collaborate closely with product, business, and operation teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Oversee the development and delivery of new features and products, ensuring they meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of Augmodo’s platform.
- Stay at the forefront of spatial AI, computer vision, and real-time data processing.
- Own technical decision-making, from infrastructure to ML model deployment.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, rapid iteration, and continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications
- Master's in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
- 15+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years of senior management experience, overseeing multiple engineering functions.
- Expertise in computer vision, AI/ML, sensor fusion, or robotics.
- Experience in full-stack development and scalable cloud architectures.
- Passion for retail tech, AI, and transforming physical work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguity.
- A builder mentality—hands-on when needed, but able to scale teams and delegate effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Vision, or a related field.
- Experience with AR/MR technologies.
- Experience in retail tech.
Computer Vision Research Scientist
Augmodo is at the forefront of spatial computing, where mapping connects the digital and physical worlds. As a Computer Vision Research Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in our computer vision team in developing state-of-the-art algorithms and pipelines for localization, mapping, and detection. You will drive research efforts at the intersection of geometry and neural networks, advancing Augmodo’s vision for spatial computing.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the research and development of advanced computer vision systems (e.g., SLAM, object detection & recognition).
- Define and implement evaluation metrics to benchmark algorithm performance to fulfill customer requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and software engineers to integrate computer vision solutions into Augmodo's platforms.
- Guide the computer vision strategy and pipeline development.
- Stay informed on the latest research and contribute to the computer vision roadmap.
Experience & Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Vision, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in computer vision and machine learning.
- Proficient in Python and machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience in designing and training custom models.
- Experience in transitioning research prototypes into production-grade systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in techniques combining geometry and machine learning.
- Proficient in C++, and computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV).
- Familiarity with hardware-accelerated vision systems (e.g., GPUs, FPGAs).
- Experience deploying real-time systems on embedded or robotic platforms.
- Strong publication record in top-tier conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICRA).
Computer Vision Engineer
Augmodo is at the forefront of spatial computing, where mapping connects the digital and physical worlds. As a Computer Vision Engineer, you will play a key role in our computer vision team in deploying and developing state-of-the-art algorithms and pipelines for localization, mapping, and detection.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize algorithms for computer vision and machine learning.
- Develop and maintain robust and scalable systems for processing large-scale computer vision systems and image datasets.
- Contribute to the development of novel computer vision techniques for video processing and image recognition.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and optimize computer vision pipeline.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master's in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in production-level computer vision systems.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
